Metastatic cervical cancer! I’m fighting for time with my daughter

It started with bleeding, lower abdominal pain, back pain, and weakness. Tests showed that it was cervical cancer that had metastasized to the iliac lymph nodes. There was also a suspicion of bone metastases. I’m fighting to have the strength to be there for my daughter.

Diagnosis and treatment

The first symptoms—pain, weakness, and bleeding—appeared in April 2024. After undergoing tests, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, initially at stage IIIC1.

I started treatment very quickly and underwent radical surgery. After that, I continued with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. I’m also receiving private treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hyperthermia, and supportive care. I’ve also undergone another course of radiation therapy.

The illness robbed me of my independence

I’m at home today, but I need my family’s help. The side effects of the treatment are so severe that I’m currently unable to take care of myself. I have trouble getting around and need a ride to my appointments. I’m unable to work. Even simple daily tasks have become difficult.

I want to be with my daughter

My loved ones have taken on many of my daily responsibilities, including helping to care for my child. I am grateful to them, but as a mother, it is very difficult to accept that my illness is robbing me of the strength to build a relationship with my daughter. On my better days, the simple things matter most to me: spending time together, talking, being close, and having a moment of peace. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many of those better days.
