Update
I've already had my last radiation treatment.
This is a really important moment for me, because the hardest part of my treatment is now behind me. However, I needed a few days to recover and get some rest after everything that’s happened. Doctors say that the effects of radiation therapy can continue to affect the body for up to three more months, so now all I can do is wait for my follow-up appointment with the oncologist, which is in four weeks. I also recently had another abdominal ultrasound. Unfortunately, the disease is still taking a heavy toll. The bone lesions have not improved. The tumor has severely damaged the pelvic bone. The doctors also admit that the radiation therapy is working more slowly than initially expected. I still have to live with a nephrostomy, which is very difficult and uncomfortable for me. My body is very weak. I spend practically the whole day sleeping; I don’t even have the strength for short walks or a trip to the store. I still feel nauseous and have no appetite, and although the pain has eased a bit, I still need to use a morphine patch. Despite all this, I'm trying to keep fighting and believe that the treatment will start to show better and better results. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and kind words. June 1, 2026Completion of radiation therapy
The final round of radiation therapy is now complete. This is an important milestone, though we still have to wait to see the full effects of the treatment. A follow-up appointment with the oncologist has been scheduled for four weeks from now.Current health status
Monika also underwent a follow-up abdominal ultrasound, which was intended to assess the condition of the bladder. As for changes in the bones, unfortunately, the situation remains unchanged. The disease continues to significantly affect bone structures, particularly in the pelvic region.Daily life after treatment
Monika still has to live with a nephrostomy, and it will most likely be necessary until at least July. Brachytherapy has brought about some improvement. The first, albeit very slight, signs of a return to natural urination have appeared; however, a nephrostomy remains necessary.Weakness and side effects of treatment
Monika's body is very worn out from the treatment. The pain has subsided somewhat, but still requires pain medication. The attempt to stop using the morphine patches was unsuccessful, which shows just how much the body still needs pharmacological support. Monika is also experiencing nausea and a lack of appetite. Her meals are irregular, and her mood fluctuates. At the moment, she doesn’t even have the energy for short walks or to leave the house. April 24, 2026Every day of treatment brings a new challenge
It's been two weeks since I started radiation therapy. Every day, trips to the hospital are necessary, and On Tuesdays, the treatment is supplemented with chemotherapy. It's a pace that leaves no time to rest. The body is reacting more and more strongly
My mood is getting worse by the day. Insomnia and a loss of appetite set in. My energy levels are dwindling. There are times when even getting out of bed and getting ready to go to the hospital feels like a huge effort.Pain becomes a daily occurrence
Morphine must be administered before each radiation session to ensure that the procedure can be performed. Strong painkillers are also used on a daily basis.Despite this, the pain persists
It affects the back, ribs, tailbone, and pelvis. It is persistent, widespread, and difficult to control. That’s when doubt sets in
As symptoms worsen, it becomes increasingly difficult to believe that treatment will be effective. In this situation, fatigue and helplessness become just as present as the illness itself. This is a very challenging stage
Daily life revolves around treatment and trying to cope with pain that prevents normal functioning. Support is particularly important at this time March 23, 2026Another visit and a new stage of treatment
After the last oncology consultation, decisions were made regarding further treatment. On March 2, Magdalena will begin daily radiation therapy scheduled to last approximately five weeks. The treatment will be supplemented with weekly chemotherapy infusions. A CT scan has already been performed in preparation for pelvic radiation, and a qualifying examination for possible brachytherapy is scheduled for March 17.The body reacts to intensive treatment
After three stereotactic procedures involving bone lesions There was a marked deterioration in well-being. The pain radiating from the legs spread to the hips and lower abdomen. Pain treatment was increased and antibiotics were added due to inflammation in the bones and bladder. Pain attacks occur suddenly and can be so severe that they make it impossible to sit, lie down, or move. Doctors emphasize that the body needs time to respond to therapy and gradually stabilize.Constant care and vigilant support
Magdalena remains in constant contact with her attending physician and the hospice team. The attentiveness of the medical staff provides her with real support in her daily life marked by treatment.Between fear and readiness to continue the effort
The new stage of therapy raises concerns about pain and possible side effects, but it is accompanied by an awareness of the need to make another effort. A consultation with a psycho-oncologist is also planned in the coming days. which is intended to help bring order to one’s emotions and restore inner balance. Amid these difficult times, we are comforted by the presence of loved ones and the kindness of people like you, who make this challenging period easier to bear. On behalf of Magda, we ask for your continued support February 24, 2026Update after oncology appointment
A visit to the oncologist brought news that once again changed the course of Magdalena's treatment and everyday life. It was a difficult moment, requiring her to rearrange her plans and face another layer of the disease.New diagnosis
The tests revealed two bone metastases. Today, they are the main cause of increasing pain and a marked deterioration in fitness. As a result, the existing treatment plan had to be modified.Pain limits every movement
For over a week Moving around the house is extremely difficult for Magdalena. He tries to walk on crutches, but the pain and weakness make even this effort very difficult.Hospice care
Magdalena was placed under the care of a home hospice. Twice a week A nurse comes to her to help with pain management, symptomatic treatment, and daily care. This support has become necessary in order to alleviate symptoms and ensure at least minimal comfort. This is the point at which treatment focuses not only on stopping the disease, but also on relieving pain. Magdalena is suffering greatly.Change in treatment plan
The schedule for cancer treatment is also changing. February 11 Magdalena will begin three sessions of stereotactic radiation therapy, which aims to directly target the metastases in her bones. Next, on February 23, it is planned to begin radiochemotherapy, provided that the patient's condition allows it. The detailed scope of subsequent sessions will be determined in the near future. Every day begins with a battle against pain
Magdalena is undergoing treatment in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The illness appeared suddenly and very quickly robbed her of her sense of security, invading her everyday life without warning or notice.
The first worrying signs concerned her intimate health and prompted her to seek urgent gynecological consultation. During the visit, it turned out that the condition of her cervix made it impossible to perform basic tests, which necessitated immediate referral to the hospital and in-depth diagnostics.
Diagnosis
On August 30, 2025, test results showed HPV infection with severe dysplasia and suspected cancerous changes. The following weeks brought even more difficult news.
On December 1, 2025, after performing a cervical curettage, the diagnosis of G2 cervical cancer with invasion of the vaginal wall and metastases to the bladder and ureter was confirmed. It was at that moment that the disease ceased to be a possibility and became a fact that had to be faced.
Sudden complications and subsequent decisions
In January 2026, Magdalena was scheduled to undergo a contrast-enhanced CT scan. However, instead of the planned examination, she was urgently admitted to the urology ward. It was necessary to relieve pressure on her kidney and perform a nephrostomy.
The tomography was performed without contrast due to abnormal creatinine results. Magdalena is currently living with a nephrostomy and awaiting crucial decisions regarding further treatment.
On February 2, 2026 , there will be a visit to the oncologist, during which decisions will be made about the scope of radiochemiobrachytherapy.
Living in the shadow of pain
The disease has completely changed Magdalena's everyday life and that of her loved ones. She lives with her 15-year-old daughter and partner. Severe pain prevents her from working, which further exacerbates her difficult financial situation.
The simplest tasks became the biggest challenge. Getting up in the morning without pain throughout my whole body. Tying my shoes. Taking a bath. Not crying out of helplessness. She is accompanied by depression, fear, and growing mental fatigue, which does not disappear even when the pain subsides for a moment.
Moments of respite
When her illness allows her to catch her breath, Magdalena finds solace in the company of her dog and cat, as well as in painting. She graduated from art school, and her art gives her the opportunity to express emotions that cannot be put into words.
Running social media accounts is a way for her to temporarily take her mind off her illness and everyday fears.
What support is needed
The funds raised will be used to pay for prescription drugs, travel to medical appointments and consultations, as well as psychological support, which is essential in this situation.
Every donation is a huge help and a sign that Magdalena is not alone on this difficult journey. It is support that allows her to go through treatment with at least a little sense of security and human presence.
