The diagnosis came suddenly

On February 23, Małgorzata was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain. A CT scan revealed a massive, six-centimeter tumor in her colon. The situation was so serious that the doctors immediately decided to perform surgery. During the procedure, the tumor was removed along with the affected lymph nodes, and a stoma was created. Unfortunately, her body reacted very poorly to it. Even the slightest movement caused intestinal contents to leak, resulting in painful wounds and immense suffering. After a week, the doctors decided to remove the stoma and reconnect the intestines. It wasn’t until the second attempt that the procedure was successful. Every day after the surgery was a struggle for Małgorzata to get her body functioning properly again.

Treatment and more bad news

After the surgery, she began six months of maintenance chemotherapy. At the same time, Małgorzata experienced a tremendous personal tragedy—the death of her father—which had a profound impact on her mental health. She developed depression and required psychiatric care and antidepressant treatment. During subsequent oncological checkups, doctors also detected undiagnosed nodules in her lungs, which became a source of immense fear and uncertainty about the future.

A daily life filled with fear and weakness

The cancer and its treatment have taken a heavy toll on Małgorzata’s body. Today, she struggles with severe weakness, leg pain when walking, deteriorating vision and hearing, as well as additional comorbidities, namely diabetes and hypothyroidism. Every day is a huge challenge for her. Mornings are often the hardest, as she struggles to find the strength to simply get out of bed and face another day filled with stress, tests, and uncertainty. Małgorzata admits that she lives from one doctor’s visit to the next and from one test to the next. Every pain brings the fear that the disease might return or progress.

She would like to regain at least a little peace of mind

Before her illness, she found great joy in books, flowers, cooking, and long walks. Today, her greatest wish is for a more peaceful life, free from constant fear and the struggle to simply get by. The funds raised will go toward psychological care, rehabilitation, medications, medical tests, visits to specialists, and ongoing expenses related to daily life and treatment. Please support Małgorzata. Every bit of help gives her a better chance at a more peaceful treatment process, regaining her strength, and the feeling that she is not alone in this difficult battle.
