Incorrect results
At the beginning of the year , Martynka began to feel increasingly tired and developed a headache that wouldn’t go away. The following month, a slight swelling appeared on her temple. The initial tests raised more questions than they answered. Abnormal blood test results confirmed that something serious was going on and required further diagnosis.
New treatment facility
The swelling gradually grew larger. Martynka was referred to a specialized center in Wrocław, where she underwent thorough examinations. The diagnosis left no room for doubt: Ewing’s sarcoma.
Fear set in instantly, but so did the need for immediate action. The doctors decided to continue her treatment in Warsaw.
A difficult situation
Martynka is growing up in a large family. She has four siblings at home, and her mother’s partner is a huge help to the whole family in their daily lives; he helps take care of the children and has taken on many responsibilities while Martynka’s mother accompanies her to her medical appointments.
It was thanks to his presence that the siblings were able to maintain a sense of normalcy during this difficult time. The family is facing this illness together, supporting one another in moments of greatest uncertainty.
Some time ago, a flood took away their beloved home. Today, they’re renting a place that, though safe, still smells of unfamiliar walls and a fresh start.
Mom is with her daughter every day. She quit her job to accompany her through her treatment and be by her side during the hardest moments. The siblings are a huge source of support for one another. Every gesture, every message, every smile keeps them together during this difficult time. The family is united, and together they give Martyna the strength to fight.
A child's imagination
Before her hospital stay, Martynka’s days were filled with creative activities. During dance classes, she expressed herself and her emotions through every movement. At home, she enjoyed painting and creating. That’s when crayons and paints allowed her to give shape to her imagination.
Help is needed
Despite the tremendous support from her family and loved ones, Martynka’s mother worries every day. Every day is a struggle to protect her daughter’s health, and the burden of worry is hard to bear. That is why we are asking for help—for a little support that will give us hope for a brighter tomorrow.
