Brain tumor recurrence❗Ula is fighting for her life again❗

That day is impossible to forget.

On September 23, 2024, Ula was returning from work by tram. Suddenly, she had her first epileptic seizure. There was an ambulance, an emergency room, tests performed in a hurry, and that special silence that always precedes the most difficult words.
An MRI scan revealed a large tumor in the frontal lobe of her brain. The diagnosis came without warning and without time to come to terms with the fear.

The operation saved his life, but took away his mobility.

On October 7, she underwent radical surgery to remove the tumor and its metastases. The procedure saved her life, but left lasting consequences. She developed left-sided paresis and aphasia. Her daily life was filled with rehabilitation, fatigue, and a constant struggle to regain control of her own body.
It was at this point that it became clear that cancer treatment does not end with a single operation.

Complications prevented him from catching his breath.

Just when it seemed that the worst was behind her, her post-operative wound became infected in November . It was necessary to remove a fragment of her skull and she had to spend two weeks in hospital, followed by intensive antibiotic treatment.

Another epileptic seizure brought alarming news. The tumor had returned. Another operation was performed immediately, along with cranial bone reconstruction. This time, it was not possible to remove the entire tumor. It was at this point that the treatment had to move to a completely different, even more difficult level.

Proton therapy and its cost

Ula was referred for proton radiotherapy in Krakow. Radical irradiation of the tumor bed and the right frontal region comprised 30 fractions with a total dose of 54 Gy RBE. The treatment was completed at the end of August 2025.
This was followed by a severe and prolonged radiation reaction. For many weeks, Ula struggled with constant pain, burns on her face and neck, and sensitivity to light.

Chemotherapy that destroys the body

Ula is currently undergoing PCV chemotherapy. She has completed two of the six planned cycles. This is the most difficult stage of the entire treatment.
She has experienced bone pain, bleeding gums, extreme weakness, neuropathy, and leukopenia. The first cycle caused a severe allergic reaction, which also affected her mental health.

When strength and resources run out 

For a long time, Ula tried to cope on her own. She put off asking for help, convinced that other patients were in an even more difficult situation and deserved support more than she did. However, the treatment has been ongoing for over a year, and its burden has systematically drained not only her physical strength but also her financial resources.
Today, Ula has exhausted her own resources and those of her loved ones. She is facing a decisive year of chemotherapy, which requires enormous physical endurance, stable treatment, and real financial support, which she simply does not have at the moment.
