Persistent cough
A year ago, in June, I developed a cough. The doctor diagnosed bronchitis, and the antibiotics quickly made me feel better. I felt relieved and at ease, as if everything had returned to normal. I thought that chapter was closed.
A few months later, the cough returned, and my frequent infections began to worry me. The medications I tried didn’t help. Tests began, and with them came uncertainty that grew with each passing day as I waited for the results.
Diagnosis
After numerous tests, I received the diagnosis: Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In an instant, the world came to a standstill. The doctor’s words reached me as if through a fog, and then there was silence: heavy, overwhelming. Fear, disbelief, and tears set in, but so did a sense of complete disorientation. My mind was in chaos, and I had a thousand questions.
Now I commute to Gdańsk for chemotherapy. These trips have become a part of my life. Sometimes they’re quiet and peaceful, and sometimes they’re very long, filled with thoughts I can’t stop.
School and friends
I'm home today, but I miss school. I miss the usual days, the noise during breaks, and the conversations between classes. Most of all, though, I miss my friends—their presence, their laughter, and those brief moments that used to be part of everyday life.
Many interests
Before I got sick, I enjoyed biking, going on trips, and taking long walks. It gave me a sense of freedom—the feeling that I could just keep going and forget about everything for a while.
I also had an artistic side. Drawing was a way for me to calm my emotions and capture my thoughts on paper. I also enjoyed baking cakes. In the kitchen, I found joy in creating something for others, and makeup was my way of expressing myself.
Please support me
This illness has changed my life and my daily routine. Every day is a struggle—not just to stay healthy, but simply to get through the day. That is why I am asking for your help. Any support you can offer means the world to me.
